Update coverage when a person leaves
Ensure accurate Salesforce data quality by updating coverage promptly when team members depart.
Overview
Data quality issues within Salesforce can significantly impact an organization's ability to make informed decisions. Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information can lead to miscommunication, ineffective strategies, and ultimately, a loss of trust in the data-driven processes. Addressing these issues requires a thorough understanding of data governance and consistent data management practices to ensure that the information within Salesforce remains reliable and actionable.
Impact
The data quality issue arises when a person leaves the organization, leading to gaps in coverage and potential inaccuracies in data reporting. This can adversely affect decision-making processes, resource allocation, and overall operational efficiency. Ensuring that data remains accurate and up-to-date is critical to maintaining the integrity of organizational functions.
Steps to resolution
Determine Approach 🎯
Identify where the contacts can be sourced from for accounts that don’t have any. In this example, we will be using the associated opportunity contact roles on opportunities but email domains and activities could also be used.
Navigate to an Example 🕴
Click on an account that has this issue. This will be where you prompt the adq assistant to help resolve the problem.
Prompt the Assistant 💬
Prompt the adq assistant on the problem (e.g., “the account has no related contacts) and the solution (e.g., pull contacts from the opportunity contact role of associated opportunities). Press analyze once the system has been prompted.
Validate Results ✅
Spot check some of the similar records and suggested changes in the editor to ensure that it is returning accurate fixes. If you find any discrepancies, adjust the prompt and try again.
Enjoy the Success 🎉
Sit back and watch as the changes get pushed into Salesforce! You did an awesome job! 🚀
