Contact without an email
How to deal with contacts that are missing emails
Overview
If email is your main point of contact, then missing an email can be disastrous. It is often the first point of contact for cold prospects and facilitates communication for contacts. If email isn’t available then it might be worth considering removing the contacts.
Impact
Contact data needs to be useful. To the extent that cold outreach may be possible with just a name, no email often means Sales Reps won’t reach out.
The value argument is especially true in organizations where email is a required field. In these cases, updating the contact without the email may require creating fake data to ‘fill’ the email.
When determining how to approach contacts without emails, their usability is absolutely essential.
Steps to resolution
Determine Approach 🎯
To “fix” contacts without emails, the contact should either be deleted or fixed. To approach this with adq, consider the following three steps:
1. Identify where emails can be pulled from
2. Verify what information is needed for historical context
3. Remove un-usable contacts
In our example we will be pulling the contact format from other contacts at the same organization. Please note that this method will fix the contacts at one organization instead of all of them.
Navigate to an Example 🕴
Click on a contact that missing it’s email or create a temporary one that you will delete later.
Prompt the Assistant 💬
Prompt the adq assistant on the problem (e.g., “this contact is missing the email”) and the solution (e.g., “follow the naming convention for other contacts in this organization”). Press analyze once the system has been prompted.
Validate Results ✅
Verify that all the contacts without an email are getting updated correctly. If there are any issues re-prompt and try again
