Opportunity does not have a product

Improving Salesforce Data Quality: Addressing Opportunities Without a Product

Overview

Although in the early days of an opportunity the exact product mix may be unknown, by the time it’s about to close, you should know what you’re selling.

Impact

Without knowing the product on the opportunity, embarrassing mistakes can happen. Keeping track of previous conversations and the core tenants of an opportunity are key to showing customers that you are interested.

Steps to resolution

Determine Approach 🎯

Verify where this product data can be pulled from. Often times it is in emails or meeting notes.

Navigate to an Example 🕴

Navigate to an opportunity without the product lookup populated (or text if that’s how it represented).

Prompt the Assistant 💬

Prompt the adq assistant on the problem (e.g., “This opportunity doesn’t have a product in the product lookup field”) and the solution (e.g., “Pull the product from the emails with the contact on this opportunity. Then add the products found to this opportunity”). Press analyze once the system has been prompted.

Validate Results ✅

Scroll through the products and opportunities to confirm that they are populated correctly before pushing the results into the system.

Enjoy the Success 🎉

You hear that? It’s the sound of another job well done. Keep it up🚀
