Attribute text that is in the description
Data for a specific field get put in the description? No worries!
Overview
Did someone put the product information in the opportunity description? How about the contact’s preferences in their email?
In this tutorial, we will walkthrough how to extract data from text fields to help turbocharge your reporting.
Impact
Specific attributes are essential for reporting and AI, but they aren’t always the most user friendly. It is often easier for a Salesperson to fill out a single text box that 20 different specific attributes.
While forcing your sales extraordinaire may force her to spend valuable time filling out data, adq provides the opportunity to pull data from large text fields into other places.
Steps to resolution
Determine Approach 🎯
The approach for this item should be simple. Often data shouldn’t be extracted from text boxes unless you know it exists. Start with an idea of what attribute you want to fill out. In our example, we are going to be adding a competitor to the opportunity based on opportunity notes.
Navigate to an Example 🕴
Once you know the data exists in a long text field, click on an example record and get prompting. In this case we will navigate to the opportunity note long text field.
Prompt the Assistant 💬
Prompt the adq assistant on the problem. In this case our problem is that “the competitor attribute is blank” and our solution is that “the competitor name in the opportunity note field should match the name of the organization in the competitor field”
Validate Results ✅
Check to see if adq pulled the right competitors! Remember, to populate a lookup, adq needs to pull the ID of the competitor.
Enjoy the Success 🎉
