Opportunity contact team members not at the right organization
Improve Salesforce Data Quality by Correctly Identifying Opportunity Contact Team Members
Overview
The data quality issue within Salesforce primarily revolves around the challenges faced when opportunity contact team members are associated with organizations that do not align with the correct entities. This misalignment can lead to inaccuracies in reporting, hinder effective communication, and ultimately affect decision-making processes. Ensuring that contact team members are accurately linked to their respective organizations is essential for maintaining the integrity of data within Salesforce and for supporting successful business operations.
Impact
The data quality issue regarding opportunity contact team members not being associated with the correct organization can lead to significant inefficiencies in communication and project management. Inaccurate data can result in missed opportunities, ineffective outreach, and a lack of accountability among team members. Addressing this issue is crucial for ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately and that the organization can effectively engage with its stakeholders.
Steps to resolution
Determine Approach 🎯
Identify where the contacts can be sourced from for accounts that don’t have any. In this example, we will be using the associated opportunity contact roles on opportunities but email domains and activities could also be used.
Navigate to an Example 🕴
Click on an account that has this issue. This will be where you prompt the adq assistant to help resolve the problem.
Prompt the Assistant 💬
Prompt the adq assistant on the problem (e.g., “the account has no related contacts) and the solution (e.g., pull contacts from the opportunity contact role of associated opportunities). Press analyze once the system has been prompted.
Validate Results ✅
Spot check some of the similar records and suggested changes in the editor to ensure that it is returning accurate fixes. If you find any discrepancies, adjust the prompt and try again.
