Email is invalid
Ensure your Salesforce email data quality by addressing common email validation issues.
Overview
Invalid emails can be characterized by bad formats, typos in domain names, and bounced responses during the most recent outreach. In this tutorial, we will be walking through how to spot bad emails with adq and fix your data.
Impact
Invalid emails is another case where the problem is not rocket science. Not only are sales teams unable to reach out to individuals with invalid emails, but they also trust other data less when getting bounced emails from their contacts in Salesforce.
Steps to resolution
Determine Approach 🎯
Hypothetically this topic comes up because there is an email issue that you are able to see. If this is the case then identify how to fix the email or your next steps; otherwise, if you’re on the hunt for problems to solve, create a record following any pattern you’d like to account for and use adq.
Navigate to an Example 🕴
Click on a contact that has this issue. This will be where you prompt the adq assistant to help resolve the problem.
Prompt the Assistant 💬
Prompt the adq assistant on the problem (e.g., “The last email to this contact bounced”) and the solution (e.g., “It looks like most contacts at this firm have an email that ends in UBS.com. Please adjust the email to follow the format of other emails at this firm first.last@ubs.com”). Press analyze once the system has been prompted.
Validate Results ✅
Spot check some of the similar records and suggested changes in the editor to ensure that it is returning accurate fixes. If you find any discrepancies, adjust the prompt and try again.
